✖ CHARACTER:
Name: Takuto Tsunashi
Canon: Star Driver
PB/Image: Those hips.
Info links: Here.
Canon Point: End of episode 25.
Gender & Sex: Male & Male.
Age: 16.
Birthdate/Sign: Takuto has no canonically stated birthday, however, we are told that in the beginning of the series that he does share a birthday his canon mate Sugata. That being said Takuto will share Sugata's birthday of June 7th which has him fall under the sign of Gemini.
The reason why I feel Gemini is a sign that possesses both positive and negative qualities that fit both Takuto and Sugata. The most obvious of which center on Takuto's vibrant and radiant nature. He is quick, youthful, inquisitive, and never judges others unless they have done someone he cares for or himself harm. Gemini's who are born between June 1st and June 11th are also known to be able to get to root of problems that are presented to them. It is also said that these same people also enjoy making other people happy and often put their happiness ahead of their own.
Now I do realize that not all traits of Gemini fight Takuto, however, they do fit Sugata and here it was determined that Gemini would provide both Takuto and Sugata with enough positive and negative traits that would fit them both.
Tattoo: ♊ - Gemini. The mark is about the size silver dollar and it is located in the center of the x-shaped scar on his chest.
Suitability: Even though Takuto is 16 and a bit of a sexual idiot he has more than enough common sense to help him adapt to the setting and to what is expected of him.
He is a skilled hand to hand fighter and capable of also fight with two swords at once. We learn early on that Takuto grew up with his Grandfather, away from the influence of his mother and father. He leaves at the age of 15 to go to the home of his father and find him. There Takuto lives alone in the dorm of his school and is shown working several part time jobs when he is in need of money for his day to day needs.
Ironically, those who pilot Cybodies (giant mecha-like machines) are required to have a large amount of libido (it's exactly what it sounds like) to pilot and control these huge machines. While Takuto may not pilot a king level cybody like Sugata, he fights his way through several enemies and remains undefeated thanks to his radiance.
Initially, he will find the idea of worshiping probably very terrifying, if only because he has only recently had what someone can consider his first kiss. While he might prefer to wait, he will have no problem worshiping if it meant helping someone he cares about.
Power: While part of me believes it would hilarious for Taktuo to end up with the ability to summon small creatures in place of piloting a cybody. I am going to have to divert his ability to match up with the fact that Takuto is at the heart of a series an offensive fighter. Therefore, Takuto will be gaining the ability to channel currents of air while he stays in zodion.
Personality: Takuto is the epitome of a young and energetic teenager in the prime of their youth. Words like vibrant, radiant, and dazzling only begin to touch on Takuto's personality and his ability to affect and influence the lives of those he touches. This also makes him your typical shōnen hero type (catch phrases included) and an extrovert to the max.
Takuto is friendly and outgoing and not afraid to make friends. He also seems to possess a quality of life that draws other people to him easily and makes it easy for them to get along. This can be seen immediately in the series the morning after he is saved by Wako and Sugata. Over breakfast the three are seen laughing and getting along like very good friends, and later when Takuto arrives at school the student body immediately takes a great interest in Takuto (via: fanboying/girling).
Takuto does his best to remain optimistic. When faced with difficult situations he often falls back on advise given to him by his grandfather ( the man who raised and trained him to be a star driver). He strives always to do the right thing and refuses to give up no matter how dire the circumstances appear. Takuto often claims that he can hear the voice of the world when he feels he is doing something good, and while Takuto does spend most of the series fighting others he also does not believe in hurting anyone with these powers. In fact, when Glittering Crux advances to the third stage, he goes out of his way to ensure that the lives of the other star drivers are saved before destroying their cybodies and Takuto's radiance does not stop there.
Takuto would not accomplish any of these tasks if he was not an extreme determined and loyal individual. Almost every battle Takuto engages in within zero time involves him facing another strong opponent and there are occasions when the odds do not appear to be in his favor. Each battle is met head first and often it seems that through sheer strength of his will and belief that he will win that he manages to do what is necessary to defeat his opponent. This often includes quick and last minute decisions, which at times makes him seem like a reckless or careless fighter, but Takuto's faith in himself and that he is doing the right thing is what ensures he doesn't think twice about those types of decisions.
Takuto above all else was taught to protect the weak and this is whole reason he allows himself to be swept up into battling in his cybody and against the other star drivers. He risks his safety time and time again for the people he cares about like Wako, Marino, and even smaller creatures (ie: Takuto jumps to the rescue of a baby bird on the day he meets Marino). He is not afraid to put himself in harms way if it means protecting and saving someone else.
Takuto however is not without his faults and a lot of his is a result of his estranged relationship with his Father. His mother was a teenager when she left her home and Takuto's father behind and after he was born his mother left Takuto in the care of his paternal grandfather. Takuto grew up and for the most part was a quiet boy who kept to himself and it was not until he was older and befriended a boy with a terminal illness named Natsuo that Takuto learned that he too wanted to be radiant. While, he does not blame his mother for leaving him in the hands of his grandfather, Takuto does in fact blame and hate his father. Wanting to confront of his father and get one good punch in is part of the reason Takuto decides to come to live on the island. Any mention of his dad tends to bring out the worst in Takuto, his temper flairs and his tends to deteriorate quickly. However, Takuto does his best to not let these feelings linger and in the end he does his best to distance himself from the subject entirely.
This can also be seen when Takuto realizes he might be getting in the way of his two best friends being happy. Since his arrival on the island, Takuto felt an instance attraction to Wako and her fiance Sugata. One would imagine that at first things might have seemed awkward, forcing Sugata and Takuto to have a rivalry rather than a friendship, but the two become fast friends. All three of them in general only wants what best for the other, but Takuto especially has trouble understanding that what is best for Wako and Sugata is also best for him. It's during these moments when he thinks it's best that if he takes a back seat for other people's happiness that we see him fade. Takuto can also become bothered and depressed easily when he doesn't find an immediate way to help those in need.
Takuto is also usually and utterly completely lost when it comes to things like kissing, dating, and sex. He is extremely easy to embarrass, tease, and fluster. Even suggesting something as chaste as 'kissing through the glass' causes him to become red in the face. Though he is not without his own boyish thoughts, the most amusing of which is when he asks if CPR counts as a kiss.
Takuto can also be a tad reckless at times, but what hero is not when push comes to shove? When he is told not to do something, he does it. When he knows he should not step in to defend someone, he fights back harder for them. When he needs to get answers, he will sneak into an old abandon mine without thinking twice. Most importantly, when his best friend tries to seal himself away for the sake of the world, he breaks Wako's seal and chases Sugata out into space to drag his best friend's peacock feathered ass back so they can all live together.
They don't call Takuto the Galactic Pretty Boy for nothing, you know.

You never prepared me for something like this, Grandpa.

Despite his appearance he puts on a cheerful and energetic smile and a thumbs up that he hopes will make a first good impression.]
Hello! I'm Tsunashi Takuto and I'm not sure what's going on, but I never imagined that my trip into space would end up with me landing in some strange new world. I guess this is just another one of those defining moments of youth, am I right?
Anyway... I'm in a bit a of a piiiiinch and need some help. I'm more than happy to return the favor if you help me. You see I wasn't alone before I came here and I need to know if my friend Sugata ended up here too.
[He looks like he's about disconnect the message when he blinks down and tacks on one final quick message.]
Oh and if anyone can tell me what exactly these Twelve guys meant by worship or how to get home that'd be great too. I'm pretty sure my cybody isn't going anywhere.
"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
When what you want to do and what you ought to do...
The last thing anyone expected was for Takuto to break the last and final seal that was holding together what was left of zero time. Not only was he putting the world in danger, but the lives of his friends and ultimately himself as well. He knew before he summoned the pair of star swords to destroy Wako's cybody that this decision was the wrong idea, but it's also what made it the right idea. There was no way he could just stand by and let Sugata go like that.
It's why he doesn't falter in his pursuit and every attack Samekh throws at him is countered and returned. With the Earth beneath him and the stars above the only thing Takuto can see anymore is the future that he has with Wako and Sugata and he knows that so long as that image is still clear and focused in his mind that nothing will be able to stop him. Not even the King of all cybodies and his illusions.
The explosion and light that is expelled out is enough to illuminate the universe for miles. Samekh is destroyed and Tauburn is in near ruins, but Sugata is safe and Takuto knows the rest will work out some how. He smiles across the short distance of space between them and before Sugata can say anything he speaks.
"You don't need to say anything... after all, my family's motto is to protect the weak." He explains with a knowing smile, one that clearly explains that Sugata doesn't need to apologize. Takuto knows all too well that Sugata was just doing what he thought was right and he can't fault Sugata for trying even if he didn't agree with his methods.
"What a glorious sky."
"Yeah and it sure is, but you know we're bound to see other skies, different from this one, but even more glorious in the future together." He says with a smile as he marvels over the aurora of blueish green light caused by the disintegration of Samekh's cybody in the atmosphere. Little does he know that the future would be just few short seconds from now.
He only closed his eyes for a second, chest rising as he drew in a deep and relaxing breath. Part of him wanted to remember that moment forever, because he never quite imagined he would have ended up experiencing such an amazing view. Even with his eyes closed he could still see the Earth beneath him like a giant glowing blue marble, and all around a twinkling canopy of stars, suns, and galaxies that made up the universe. When his eyes open he's ready for one last look before he'll announce to Sugata that it's time to head back home and to Wako. However, he's not quite prepared for the site that awaits him.
Instead of space he finds himself standing in the middle of a grass covered field and ahead of him a large stone archway. Worry and fear quickly pass over him and he rushes forward without thinking. Not only is Tauburn not here, but Sugata has seemingly disappeared as well.
"Sugata!" He yells as he quickly climbs his way the main temple of Luminar, the white coat tails of his star driver suit flapping in the wind behind him as he crosses across the circle of water. Forced to stop as the water around him rises swiftly, he's caught by surprise when he catches his reflection in the water's surface. Seeing himself naked causes his cheeks to flush and his arms to move down to avoid any awkward stares from whoever might be near by. He's even more confused to discover that he's still fully dressed and his reflection is some sort of illusion. Turning once he pauses as he feels a sting on the center of his chest and that's when he notices the small strange shape marking set in the center of his x-shaped scar.
It's not long after that the water and glow from the alter fades and leaves him standing there in silence. Confused and rightfully so, Takuto quickly searches his surroundings and it doesn't take him long to find the letter and the phone that has been left for him to find. A quick skim of the letter at least answers some of his questions, he's been brought to his place for some reason or another. With that knowledge tucked in the back of his head and the communication device in his hand Takuto takes off running for whatever city or group of people he can find first. He can get answers and worry about getting home later, for now he had to find out Sugata was here.
